L'Estaque: View of the Bay of Marseilles, a small town near Marseilles, was painted by Paul Cézanne sometime between 1878 and 1879. Notice the vaguely Cubist shapes and flattened depth of the painting. . . Cézanne soon became well-known for these subtle changes to reality.
